Admission

Admission

Admission to the M.S. program in Music and Acoustic Engineering requires:

  1. A Bachelor degree, preferably a Bachelor of Science, with a duration of at least three years and 180 CFUs (Italian credits, corresponding to ACTS standards).
  2. Of these 180 CFUs:
    • At least 30 must be in math and physics disciplines
    • 15 must be in the area of computer science.

CVs, qualifications, background, and motivations of all applicants are evaluated by an Admission Committee (A.C.), appointed by the Study Council of the M. Sci. program.

Italian applicants with a B.S. degree must adhere to admission rules outlined in the Italian version of the Didactic Rules at this link (see Section 6.1). Specific provisions exist for automatic admission based on Grade Point Average (GPA) and years required to complete a B.S.

Foreign applications and qualification equivalences are reviewed and assessed by the Admission Committee.

Depending on the applicant’s background, the A.C. may impose specific didactic constraints, ensuring the student takes necessary courses as part of the 120 CFUs required for graduation. This aims to address potential knowledge gaps and facilitate success in core M.S. program courses.

Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the English language, with a minimum level of B2 according to the CEFR classification set by the Council of Europe.

More details can be found in the Didactic Rules at this link (see Section 6.1).
